Kevin Beirne pitched for my team, the Kintetsu Buffaloes, in Japan. I found him to be a very tough pitcher. His ability, combined with his courage, made him very formidable when he took the mound.
I recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn how to pitch. He has all of the abilities necessary to help young pitchers get better and teach them how to win
HALL OF FAME MANAGER
“Kevin knows the dedication and work involved to becoming a big leaguer. His work ethic and wiliness to learn new things are vital in becoming a great coach. I highly recommend Kevin for taking pitching lessons”.
BOBBY VALENTINE, BOSTON RED SOX MANAGER
EX TEXAS RANGERS AND NEW YORK METS MANGER AND CURRENT MANAGER OF THE CHIBA LOTTE MARINES IN JAPAN. WINNER OF THE 2000 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS
“Kevin Beirne is the ideal personal pitching coach. He has competed at all levels of professional baseball in both the United States and Japan. He is an RDRBI/NPA Certified Pitching Coach and Conditioning Coach. Most importantly, he is passionate about the game, combining his on-the-field experience with research based information, instruction and inspiration to mentor young pitchers with baseball skills, as well as, life skills. This combination of personal and professional assets make Kevin unique. If my son was a pitcher, he’d be taking lessons from Coach Beirne.”

WHERE HE WORKED WITH HALL OF FAMER NOLAN RYAN,
CURRENT PITCHING COACH OF USC
“I’ve known Kevin Beirne since 1996. The two things that have always stood out about Kevin are his extreme work ethic and his tremendous knowledge of the art of pitching. I believe Kevin would be a great asset to any young pitcher trying to take his game to the next level.”
JOE SAMBITO – 11 MAJOR LEAGUE VETERAN

RED SOX SFX SPORTS AGENT
“In the short time Kevin has worked with my son, Sam, we have seen a dramatic improvement in his posture and stride length, which has led to a more athletic and consistent delivery. Although Kevin teaches pitching mechanics based on extensive scientific research, he speaks in language that young players understand. If you want your child to learn effective and safe pitching mechanics, I highly recommend that you schedule a lesson with Kevin today!”
“I have had the great pleasure of getting to know Kevin this past couple of years. He brings a great approach to teaching the fundamentals as well as the finer points of pitching. Kevin not only has the experience of pitching at the Collegiate and Professional levels, more importantly he is an effective communicator with young men. I think it is a great thing that one of our own has returned to The Woodlands, to help develop young men who want to peruse the art and science of Pitching.”
The Woodlands High School
2006-2007 National Coach of the Year
Kevin is different than the rest of the pitching instructors we’ve experienced. He is engaged! Instead of sitting on a bucket and making observations, Kevin utilizes drills, physical measurements and video to achieve results. He incorporates research based information to make the various movements within a pitching motion, makes sense and work together.
Kevin makes pitching come to life both physically and mentally. The one thing that often gets overlooked (my opinion) is the mental side of the game. Kevin doesn’t let this slide. He spends the time to pass along the things he learned as a professional pitcher. This includes his approach pitch-to-pitch. A topic that hit home with both of my boys was the idea behind “apparent velocity.” You may not throw 90 mph, but follow a change-up out with a fast ball in, and the batter sure thinks you do! This is just one example of the many gems Kevin has passed along to my boys.
My oldest son now plays Div I baseball at Pepperdine University. His dream is still alive! He is a pitcher/infielder and his velocity has been clocked as high as 88 mph. Prior to working with Kevin, he was consistent 84 mph. I firmly believe this is the result of having better knowledge of the sequence of events required to deliver a pitch, working drills designed to reinforce proper mechanics, and building pitching-specific strength.
My youngest is a freshman at Cypress Ranch High School (Texas). He is working hard to achieve his dream. He is a pitcher/catcher/infielder. His velocity has been measured at 84 mph. We look forward to working with Kevin for the next 4 years and seeing his potential develop.
Kevin Beirne has been a blessing to both of my kids (Cody and Derek). Most importantly, he is their friend as well as their instructor!
Kevin, I wanted to thank you for working with Kyle the past two years. As you know when Tom House referred us to you, Kyle was a lanky sophomore that couldn’t seem to break through the 83 MPH range and often ended up on the sidelines with a sore arm, elbow or shoulder.
A year later you had him throwing in the upper 80’s, and more importantly he has gone two full seasons without missing any time to injury. Now he is off to start his college career, on scholarship at a D1 university, throwing consistently in the upper 80’s to low 90’s and I struggle to think this would have been possible without your help and his dedication.
